On the evening of August 18, the Rutherford Hotel in Nelson hosted the CCNZ Nelson Marlborough Branch Contractor of the Year Awards, an event held every two years. With a record-breaking 53 award entries, the competition was fierce. Projects spanned a range of categories, from emergency and disaster response to significant developments like the largest dam in the top of the South Island, as well as community-focused projects like parks, playgrounds, shared paths, and walkways.
We are excited to announce that Simcox Construction had an incredibly successful evening, clinching several key awards:
- Hynds Projects over $2 Million Award Winner: Birch Hill Dam and Vineyard Development
- Humes Pipeline Systems Women in Civil Construction Award: Ollie Borlase
- Terra Cat Young Achiever Award: Leith Gilmore
- Topping off a memorable evening, Simcox Construction was named Hirepool Supreme Contractor of the Year, a testament to our consistent delivery of quality and excellence.
We were particularly thrilled to see Ollie and Leith, two of our up-and-coming talents, receive the recognition they so richly deserve. Their awards are not just personal milestones but also indicators of the promising future that lies ahead for Simcox Construction.
The evening was incredibly special for our team. Winning these awards requires more than just technical skill; it takes a commitment from our whole team to be better every day.
Congratulations to all the other winners on the night. You can read more about the other great work happening in our region here.
