Supporting the communities where we live and work is an important part of living our ‘Create a Better Future’ value. Selmes Garden Centre is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing support and opportunities for disabled people in Marlborough. Recently, we were able to repurpose waste material from our landfill, alongside drainage chip from our quarry, to create a new floor for their seedling, perennial, and native plant tunnelhouses. The previous floor had inadequate drainage, leaving the cobbles slippery and causing pools of standing water during daily watering and in wet weather. Working together with Outward Bound (who provided the manpower), an excellent result was achieved – and Selmes couldn't be happier with the outcome!
